The object in question is a so-called photogenic drawing showing a leaf. It is made without the help of a camera just by exposing light sensitive paper to sunlight. First thought to be made by Fox Talbot in 1839 it might as well be made in the late 18th century.
It was first auctioned off in 1984 for 776 dollars. But its value has increased continously in the following years to up to 150.000 dollars today. Should it turn out to be really older than expected its value could (and probably will) sky rocket again.
